Image files and processing

Your selected image files are decoded and compressed locally in your browser. lighterpic does not upload those files or their pixel data to a compression server. It has no backend for storing your images, and it does not create a public link to them.

The tool can read files you explicitly select or drop into the page. This does not give it access to the other files on your device. Processing results are held in the browser while you use the tool, and downloads are saved through your browser's normal download process.

Refreshing or closing the page can remove the current work from the interface. Downloaded files remain on your device until you delete them yourself. Keep your originals and save any results you want to retain.

Browser preferences

lighterpic may use your browser's local storage to remember your language and compression preferences. These preferences are stored in the browser you use; they do not contain your selected image files.

You can remove these saved preferences by clearing this site's data in your browser settings. Private browsing modes or browser storage restrictions may prevent them from being remembered.

Requests to the static host

Your browser still connects to the site's hosting provider to load pages, scripts, styles and encoder files. These requests can include the requested URL, IP address, browser headers and request time. The hosting provider may keep request or security logs under its own practices.

Local image processing does not eliminate these ordinary website requests. It means the selected images are not part of an upload to a compression service.

Advertising and analytics

lighterpic currently has no active advertisements or analytics trackers. Google advertising may be added in the future, but account setup and approval are pending.

If advertising is introduced, this policy will be updated to identify the services involved and explain the data they use. A consent interface, including a certified consent management platform where the advertising provider requires one, will be configured before relevant advertising begins. We do not treat the current policy as consent to future advertising.

If you follow a link to another site, that site handles its own requests and data. Its privacy policy applies to your visit there.

• Choose only the images you want the tool to process.
• Use browser controls to clear stored preferences.
• Keep original files and review outputs before sharing them.
• Close or refresh the page when you have finished, after downloading the results you need.
