Using the tool
lighterpic provides browser-based image compression and conversion for your own files. The compressor is currently free to use. Features, supported image variants and availability may change as the project develops.
Use the tool only for images you own or are authorized to process. You are responsible for deciding whether you have permission to edit, publish or distribute an image.
Your images remain yours
You retain the rights you have in your selected images and generated outputs. Using the compressor does not transfer ownership to lighterpic. Local processing does not grant lighterpic a right to publish your files.
Check the result before use
Compression and conversion may alter visual details, dimensions, transparency, metadata or color information. The effect depends on the file, settings, format and browser. Keep an original copy and review the output before using it in a product, document or publication.
Some images are already efficiently encoded. lighterpic does not guarantee that every output will be smaller, that every file will process successfully, or that every destination will accept the chosen format.
Device and browser limits
Processing uses your device's memory and computing resources. Large images or batches may run slowly, fail, or cause a browser tab to close. Current work may be lost when the page is refreshed or closed. Download the results you need before ending the session.
Availability and responsibility
The tool is provided as available, without a promise of uninterrupted service or suitability for a particular purpose. To the extent allowed by applicable law, no warranty is provided for output accuracy, compatibility or fitness for use. Nothing in these terms removes rights or protections that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.
Privacy and future advertising
The privacy policy explains local image processing and browser preferences. Advertising is not currently active. If ads are introduced, the relevant disclosures and privacy controls will be updated before launch.
Updates
These terms may be revised as the tool changes. The date at the top indicates the latest version. Preserve copies of your source files regardless of changes to the service.
